Anyone who wishes to volunteer with Northern Ireland Fencing Ltd or one of the Affiliated Fencing Clubs and who will be in a ‘regulated position’ must be checked by Access NI by completing an Enhanced Disclosure Application.
The process is as follows
Obtain a ‘Fencing Volunteer Application Form’ which can be downloaded from the Northern Ireland Fencing Website
www.nifencing.com or obtain its equivalent from your local club.
Obtain an ‘Enhanced Disclosure’ application form from your fencing club or download it from
www.accessni.gov.uk
Complete the Fencing Application Form. Provide the necessary identification to the relevant club official and get him or her to sign the form.
Submit the Fencing Application Form and the Enhanced Disclosure Form to your club who will submit them to a Counter Signatory within Northern Ireland Fencing Ltd.
The Fencing Application Form will be returned to your club for them to follow up with whatever references you have provided.
The Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from Access NI with be sent to the Counter Signing Officer within NI Fencing and a copy will be returned to the applicant.
NI Fencing Ltd does not retain your Access NI Certificate. It will be returned to you in the post and an email will be sent to your club confirming that your Disclosure Check was satisfactory or requesting that they contact the Countersigning Officer.
The only information NI Fencing will retain is as follows

Name of club(s) at which they volunteer,

Unique Access NI certificate reference,

Date the Certificate was received
-
Outcome of any consideration as a result of the information received on the certificate
