Fencer Safety

Please note that in Northern Ireland we adhere to the British Fencing Safety Guidelines.  In summary

Fencers Using Size 0 or Size 3 Blades must wear:

Mask at CEN Level 1 (350N Bib)

Jacket at CEN Level 1 (350N) and Under Plastron at CEN Level 1 (350N) OR Jacket at CEN Level 2 (800N)

Breeches or Trousers/Tracksuit Bottoms with Pockets Taped or Sewn closed (No Shorts!)

Note: For all Northern Ireland Competitions Breeches are now compulsory

Fencers Using Size 5 Blades must wear:

Mask at CEN Level 1 (350N Bib)

Jacket at CEN Level 1 (350N) and Under Plastron at CEN Level 2 (800N)

Breeches at CEN Level 1 (350N)

Fencers Entering Official F.I.E Competitions must wear:

Mask at CEN Level 2 (1600N Bib)

Jacket at CEN Level 2 (800N) and Under Plastron at CEN Level 2 (800N)

Breeches at CEN Level 2 (800N)

Please note that for all Northern Ireland Competitions (Senior or Junior) Breeches are now Compulsory
