A pre-season two day training event will take place over the weekend 28-29 Sep 2013 in the Main Hall of Avoniel Leisure Centre, open to all fencers who took part in the 2012-13 NI Junior Foil Series. This includes fencers who were in the U16s in 2012-13 and now too old to compete in the NIJFS in 2013-14. It will also be open to any beginners intending to take part this year.
On both days, training and coaching will be by ex-Olympic fencer and BF grade 4 coach Katie Arup. As a pre-season training session, special attention will be paid to fitness, footwork and tactics, with practice bouts on scoring boxes in the afternoon sessions.
