The fencers have been selected for the 2014 Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2014 to be held in Largs, Scotland in November.
You can find the list of named fencers for each weapon on the Selections Decisions page.
To avoid confusion all 5 fencers selected at each weapon may fence in the individual event. In the team event the team captain will choose 3 fencers from the 5 selected and may vary the team between matches.
The Celtic Challenge for Vets will be held in Edinburgh on the 26th and 27th July 2014. You can find further information and the entry form in the Events Calender

Entries are now closed for the BYC qualifiers which will take place at Hunterhouse College on Sunday 23rd Feb 2014.
Only the Under 14 Foil male and female entries will have to compete for qualification.

Applicants must have a current CRB certificate and, for insurance purposes , have an individual British Fencing Licence as well as being aware of current Child Protection Policies.

Congratulations to Fiona Haldane on being awarded the Local Hero Award at the Belfast Telegraph Sports Personality Awards. This rounds off a fantastic year for the Northern Ireland Veteran Fencer as she also won a Bronze Medal at the World Veteran Fencing Championships in Austria.
“Fiona Haldane is the type of inspirational person that Northern Ireland sport needs. At 62, the Ulster woman is still competing as a top fencer, becoming the Northern Ireland and Irish Women’s Epee champion in 2012.”

All qualifiers need to attend on Saturday before 12pm to confirm their details, name, dob, bfa membership, email address, telephone number, club and to pay the outstanding balance for the entrance fees for Sheffield. Fencers must have a valid BFA membership for entry into this competition.
Refreshments will be available at this competition and there will also be a raffle with proceeds to Hunterhouse College, top prize is tickets to the Grand Opera House, bottles of wine and lots of other prizes.
