The Northern Ireland Open 2022 will be held at Ulster University, Magee in Derry/Londonderry on 29th/30th January 2022.

Closing date is 26th January 2022.

COVID RULES
Competitors must either present valid proof of vaccination (at least 14 days after second dose) or a recent negative test. If either of these are impractical competitors and spectators can complete a lateral flow test on the day. If you would like to test on the day, please email [email protected] in advance. Please arrive at least 45 minutes before your check-in deadline and you will be given lateral flow test kits. The test should be carried out in your car until you have a clear result (test takes 5 minutes plus 30 minutes for the result). If either the competitor or the spectator/guardian tests positive then the competitor will not be allowed to compete.

  • Please try to limit the number of spectators to one per competitor.
  • Masks must be worn at all times, except when participating in a bout.
  • Social distancing should be maintained where possible.
  • Shaking hands after a bout has been suspended within British Fencing rules, it is no longer required or advised.
  • Competitors are limited to 40 hits against each other over the course of a competition.
  • Track and trace will be in operation, contact details will be collected for non competitors.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS

  • HIGH TEMPERATURE
  • NEW OR CONTINUOUS COUGH
  • LOSS OF SMELL OR TASTE

We advise people attending the event to avoid any high risk activities before coming to the event, to help minimise risk to your fellow competitors.
