Bringing Fencing to Communities
NI Fencing is already working closely with leisure centres across Northern Ireland to make fencing more accessible to everyone. By partnering with these centres, we aim to introduce this exciting sport to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Fencing is a truly a sport for all. Many clubs introduce fencing to 6-8 year olds with fun ‘plastic fencing’ sessions and have members training and competing well into their 70’s. With such a broad range, clubs can really thrive.
How We Are Partnering with Leisure Centres
Through our collaboration with leisure centres, we deliver engaging fencing sessions that focus on inclusivity and fun. Our work includes training leisure centre staff, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to lead fencing activities, and providing the resources needed to ensure a high-quality experience for participants.
We help raise awareness of fencing within communities by offering introductory sessions and promoting the sport as a dynamic and accessible activity for everyone. By working with leisure centres, we’re helping to foster a love for fencing and build a strong community of participants across Northern Ireland.
A Growing Opportunity
These partnerships with leisure centres play a vital role in expanding access to fencing across Northern Ireland. By working together, NI Fencing and leisure centres can engage even more people in sport and enjoy the many benefits of being part of sociable and vibrant clubs.
