Olympic Legacy Fund
Applications are now open for the Olympic Legacy Fund, a £2 million investment programme delivered by Sport NI in partnership with Crowdfunder UK.
The fund aims to improve the quality of community sports facilities and equipment, helping more people to participate in sport and physical activity across Northern Ireland.
Key Information
- £2 million available in total.
- Funding released in two separate tranches:
- £1 million available from September
- £1 million available from November
- Organisations will therefore have two opportunities to apply.
- Funding can support projects that enhance local sporting facilities and equipment and create lasting benefits for communities.

Creating Opportunities Programme
Sport NI is also currently still accepting applications to its Creating Opportunities programme.
This programme supports organisations to develop and deliver projects that increase participation in sport and physical activity, particularly among under-represented groups and communities that face barriers to involvement.
Key Information
- Supports new or additional projects that increase participation in sport and physical activity.
- Focuses on creating more inclusive and accessible opportunities for people to get active.
- Aims to reduce inequalities in participation and improve access to sport for those who are least represented.
- Projects should demonstrate a clear need and deliver positive outcomes for participants and their communities.
