Being able to test and repair wepons is an important skill that both Fencers should have, to be able to test and maintain your own equipment to a competition level is a useful skill and will save you from making trips to the Armourer for easy to fix issues.  To that end NI Fencing will be hosting a basic Armoury course alongside also held on the 24th February in Hunterhouse College,  Upper Lisburn Road, Belfast

There will be 2 sessions run through out the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with a maximum of 10 places per session

Morning Session:   10.30am – 12.00pm 

Afternoon Session:    1.30pm – 3.00pm 

The course will be run by Master Armourer Jonathan Courtney.

The course will include Basics in cleaning foils, replacing tips parts, basic problem solving on weapons.  There will be basic cleaning, and testing kits at the hall for use to enable those attending to complete these tasks.

Attendees are asked to bring their own weapons to work and practice on, with a maximum of three weapons and bodywires per person. Also any spare parts they may have.(There is no guarantee that all 3 weapons will be fixed within the given time frame and you are reminded that the wepons and body wires you bring with you, you will be working on)

Price £25 per person  (Costs include the use of equipment to help clean, and examine and fix weapons)

  • What experience level you have; No experience, a little experience or some experience but would like a refresher course
If you book a place on a session and are then unable to attend please let the organiser know so the place can be reallocated.
